Small Firms Loan Guarantee Scheme (SFLG)
As a small to medium sized business you may have a viable business plan that needs funding but have no assets to provide as security to a lender.
Changes to the SFLG took effect from the 1st December 2005 to reflect the recommendations of the Graham Review. As a result, the SFLG focuses on newer businesses.
Under this scheme the government guarantees 75% of the loan, for which the borrower pays a 2% premium on the outstanding balance of the loan.
The maximum available is £250,000, with terms up to 10 years.
Available to qualifying UK businesses with an annual turnover of up to £5.6m and which are up to 5 years old.
Available to businesses in most sectors and for most business purposes although there are some restrictions.
